Rick Wolfryd, also known as Chroma, is a multidisciplinary American-Mexican artist and writer born in 1953 in Newport Beach, California. Renowned for vibrant, Huichol-inspired beaded sculptures, he fuses traditional indigenous craftsmanship with contemporary pop-culture icons in what he terms "Alteration Art".
Wolfryd co-founded the influential Wolfryd-Selway Fine Art gallery in Los Angeles and has been based in Mexico City since 2009, where he continues to explore fine art, photography, poetry and digital media.
