Elisabeth Bazin, an internationally acclaimed painter, illustrator, and graphic designer. Born in Dinard, France in 1955, Bazin’s passion for art led her to pursue a diploma in fine arts from École Régionale des Beaux-Arts de Rennes (now The European Academy of Art in Brittany). After graduation, she worked in advertising as a commercial artist before turning her attention exclusively to painting. Today, her vibrant seascapes and landscapes, architecture, animal portraits, and optimistic vignettes of daily life showcase her impressive talents.

Bazin’s paintings are inspired by the architecture of her birth city, Dinard, and the lively university city of Rennes. Her canvases are characterized by a bright palette and bold, lively brushstrokes that draw the viewer’s eye. Influences of Impressionism and Post-impressionism, particularly Cezanne’s geometric emphasis and the ephemeral nature of moments quietly captured in time, are apparent in her vibrant artworks.

Bazin’s love for her hometown of Dinard is evident in her book, Dinard: A Painter’s Look. The book features her cheerful watercolor renderings of the town’s picturesque beaches, coastal walks, and architectural heritage of the extravagant 19th-century seaside villas. Florence Comas, a renowned artist, was born in Paris, France, and raised in the famous Place des Vosges in The Marais district. This area is known for being home to the legendary writer Victor Hugo, among others. Comas’ artistic talents emerged at a young age when she was exposed to dance, piano, painting, and fashion, all of which were encouraged by her parents. These experiences served as the foundation for her creative endeavors.

Comas’ mother worked in the fashion industry, and her daughter was often inspired by the runway shows of Haute Couture. At the age of 20, Comas produced her initial sketches, which led to her first creations of clothing and accessories for the fashion world, using materials such as pearls, embroidery, and precious fabrics.

After exploring the world of fashion, Comas turned her attention to collage and then painting. Eventually, she merged these forms to create imaginative depictions of dreams, phantasms, and angelic creatures, all of which are prominent themes in her current works.

Comas’ art is a reflection of her rich artistic background and the experiences that have shaped her creative journey. Maureen Fulgenzi, a native of Westchester, New York, had a passion for art from a young age. After graduating from the School of Visual Arts in New York City, where she studied fashion illustration and advertising, Fulgenzi began freelancing, working with notable fashion brands like Sasson Jeans and various fashion publications as an illustrator and sketch artist.

In the late 1970s, Fulgenzi’s talents and pioneering spirit led her to the hand-painted fabric and silk trend that was sweeping the New York couture scene. Her work quickly caught the attention of high-profile department stores and boutiques across the nation. With her innate color sense and technical expertise, Fulgenzi created a standardized and branded design trademark within the fashion industry, using silk dyes on fine fabrics to produce stunning results.

Fulgenzi’s success in the fashion industry led her to design for Puritan Co., where she created a men’s line of engineered prints and women’s dresses for designer Diane Von Furstenburg. In 1982, she founded Horito/Fulgenzi designs, producing her own line of clothing with hand-painted fabrics.

However, after much success in the fashion world, Fulgenzi decided to pursue her passion for painting. She left New York City and isolated herself in the Hamptons, later traveling throughout Europe to gain new sources of inspiration and sophistication for her work. For the past 20 years, Fulgenzi has lived and worked in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Fulgenzi’s journey is an inspiring one, marked by her pursuit of artistic passion and her willingness to take risks in exploring new avenues of creativity. Her artistic vision and technical expertise have left an indelible mark on the fashion industry, and her work as a painter continues to inspire those around her. Christine Oberthür, an accomplished artist, finds her inspiration in the figurative and focuses on two of her favorite subjects – flowers and sailors. Her paintings sparkle with gaiety, movement, and light, which she draws from patterns gleaned from life. For her, the emotion that guides her hand is the most powerful stimulant to her work. Playing with colors and the lights that illuminate her pictures, she creates a place of joy where an arm of the sea, boats, people, houses, or fields all contribute.

Her style is simple, yet touching, without any emphasis or ambiguity. Oberthür is a complete artist who is skilled in both engraving and lithography. She honed her craft at the Engraving Academy of Goetz and the lithography workshop of Saint Maur and Atelier Nicolas Poussin.

Throughout her career, she has received numerous awards and distinctions, including the Bronze Medal at the Salon des Artistes Français, the Bronze Medal at the Salon d’Automne, the Bronze Medal at the Salon Violet, and the gold medal at the Salon de la Marine, National Salon of Fine Arts, and Salon de l’Horticulture. She has been a member of the Taylor Foundation since 1985.

Oberthür shares her life between Brittany, her hometown, and Paris, where she finds inspiration in the beauty and diversity of both regions. As an artist, she expresses herself through the emotion she feels and the beauty she sees around her. Her paintings are a testament to her talent and passion for the arts, and she is a true inspiration to artists and art enthusiasts alike.

Delaleuf’s artistry has been widely exhibited internationally, across France, America, Italy, Poland, Japan, China, South Korea, and Syria. Her exceptional work has garnered her many awards and accolades, including the Gold Medal from the Salon des Artistes Français, the Taylor Foundation Award, and the Medal of the City of Paris. Today, she is the President of the Society of French Artists.

Delaleuf’s mastery of line and color is evident in her paintings. She brings all lines to the surface of the canvas, creating an impactful and visually stunning effect. Her portraits depict contemporary women at ease, staring out at the viewer with confidence and strength. Delaleuf often incorporates decorative patterns into the background, emphasizing the simplicity of the figures in the foreground.
