Wayne Ensrud (1934-2024)
The Fine Art Auction family is deeply saddened by the passing of Wayne Ensrud, one of its treasured Artists for many years.
Ensrud was a highly distinguished New York-based, classically trained artist whose work spanned multiple art disciplines and genres, including realism, surrealism, constructivism, and expressionism. He continually evolved in his artistic process, exploring a wide range of subjects in his over six-decade career, including landscapes, seascapes, still life, portraiture, figures, animals, and religious and mythical imagery. In later years he delved into the arena of non-object painting, experimenting to push the boundaries of the medium. Ensrud had a distinguished career that included being the youngest Art Director of Motion Pictures and Television at the University of California at Berkeley and Executive Art Director of PBS-TV WNET in New York City. His Art took varied and quite successful paths, much like his life. His roster of private and corporate Collectors were varied and many, and he will be missed by many.
Truly his was a life well-lived.
He is survived by his wife, Artist Lisa Mee, also an extraordinary Artist and a beloved part of the Fine Art Auction Family.
